Why amend mechanisms for achieving Emiratisation targets?

A blog by Her Excellency Farida Al Ali, Assistant Undersecretary for National Human Resources Employment The UAE Cabinet's decision to amend the mechanism for achieving Emiratisation targets reiterates the annual increase of 2% for skilled jobs in private sector companies that employ 50 people or more that was implemented in 2022, with the aim of achieving a 10% increase in Emiratisation by the end of 2026.
Fake Emiratisation: Negative, but limited practice

Fake Emiratisation is defined as the employment of a UAE citizen solely for appearances' sake, issuing a work permit and registering them with the company for purposes other than those the permit is intended for, in addition to signing an employment contract that meets formal requirements, but lacks the essential elements for a genuine contractual relationship.
Emirates Labour Market Award receives more than 7,700 applications for its second edition

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) revealed that more than 7,700 applications have been received for the second edition of the Emirates Labour Market Award, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, marking a 120% surge from the 3,500 applications received in the first edition.
